I attended my nephews wedding last Saturday and have never been to The Ravenswood before, so was really looking forward to it especially after looking at the photos on the website.

Wow what a lovely old place, it had so much character and looked so festive and inviting from outside, like a big Christmas house! When we arrived we was welcomed with a smile and I must say all the staff were all very friendly and nothing seemed to be any trouble to them!

We had a very festive turkey roast and all the courses and wine was great! I just felt I needed to put a review on here as I loved the venue and would certainly recommend and will definitely be going back there! Read more. Date of stay: December Cleanliness. Helpful Share. Poppy Dumigan wrote a review Nov Do not trust anything your told. I recently had my wedding here. I was promised the world when we booked and as soon as they had our deposit it went downhill.

We have numerous issues in the lead up and on the day. There is no communication with the staff and this lead to issues on our wedding day. I tried to discuss this with the venue on the morning after the wedding and they weren't interested. I had to chase them 3 times to get any contact and the o ly reason I got a reply was because I left them a review on their Facebook page.

When I eventually got them to contact me I spent 25 mins talking to our coordinator Bex who kept contradicting herself and when I questioned this she passed the phone to Eyvett who is extremely rude, doesn't let you get a word in edgeways and was the cause of a few of our issues.

I was told dispite wasting 25mins on the phone with bex that I had to email them my complaint. When I asked why they didn't tell me this straight away, they tried to say they did. We paid an extortionate amount to have our wedding there and we have not been treated as you'd expect. Please be careful and make sure everything is clarified my email!

Date of stay: October Trip type: Traveled with family. Godalming, United Kingdom contributions 43 helpful votes. Lovely wedding venue with a few flaws. We attended our friends beautiful wedding here. Very quickly we realised the difference between hotel and an events venue which is what this property is. There is however no bar before the event you attend opens. There is also very limited facilities for changing babies. The baby change is in the disabled wc, which is standard, but it also doubles as the gents To the extent that I went and found somewhere else to change my baby, which was actually on the floor.

We stayed in room 26, which was a family room. Despite no fridge, the room was alright. A good size, a bath as well as shower, plenty of mirrors for getting ready and space to hang clothes. I noticed other reviews complained about noise, the rooms being too hot etc.

I could vaguely hear the band downstairs but not so much that it would impact sleep. Another review said there was no lift. Bed was a little uncomfortable, springs felt quite sharp through the mattress but otherwise I slept ok.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to get married in and want to do it all over again! Thanks so much xx. Just had our daughters wedding here and would thoroughly recommend to anyone. The staff were brilliant and so attentive and helpful and friendly.

The room was decorated in in an amazing way to reflect the theme of travel and our guests was so complimentary about the whole day and we were all treated so well.

The getting ready room is fabulous and the whole day we were made to feel special. It was lovely to have the ceremony outside too.

The building is so old and majestic and totally full of character. Our special day was Friday I am so grateful that this beautiful venue was taken over by amazing people as I got my perfect garden wedding of my dreams thank you all x.

Got married here in August 30th and it was the best time of my life.. The staff are absolutely amazing and the venue is amazing too.. Everything was perfect due to the staff being super on the ball.. If I could rate them higher on here then I most definitely would. Highly recommend to anyone that wants a perfect wedding!!!!! Thank you so so much!! My wife and I are delighted to say that the Ravenswood was the perfect place to have a wedding.

Its set in the most wonderful grounds and is hosted by excellent and friendly staff. We had hoped for an outdoor wedding but alas the weather was god awful, but the venue is able to do indoor ceremony and its a lovely setting, with the fire lit to create a lovely smell.
